Around 1980 issued mini power amplifier  made by 'Aiwa Electronics' company Japan.

Special futures:


Light and small footprint amp. Wood case. Well build and good parts used.
This amp employs all silicon transistors and 2x STK power packs STK0040 type II.
There is also a version with 4 power transistors, but there is no "Bridge function switch" in that version.

This amp is a fine and compact power pack, that is reliable and easy to transport, works on almost any pre-amp.
I have tested it on a Quad 33, a Luxman C120A, a Sansui, and several others: always works fine.

Specifications:

Output power RMS: per channel: 40 Watts, music power 70 Watts, Bridged power 80 Watts.
Distortion (THD 20Hz - 20kHz) < 0.02% at continuous output per channel.
Speaker impedance: 4 ~ 16ohms
Signal/noise ratio: 105dB power amp. section
1 x RCA input.
1x speaker output terminal.

This amp has very good speaker-protection circuits with 2 relays employed.


 

Modifications:

You may replace some capacitors in the power supply and power rail.
Check DC offset.
