Luxman L-31 Amplifier upgrade

General:

 

This is a common L31 you think, What however is the hole with the glass in centre? What is your guess?
It is in fact a changed L31, it has the power amp and transformer removed.
There is a new transformer able to feed...... tubes, yes there is a stereo tube amplifier inside!
You do not believe me? look at the pictures below.
