Made in Hong Kong - MW radio - 8 transistors - this is a radio with a partly different electronic design compared to the average 6 transistor radio, this is done to make a sensible use of the two extra transistors - how is this done? The LF preamp-stage is different from the average 6 transistor radio that have passive volume control: this radio has active volume control, the volume variable-resistor is DC coupled in a two transistor circuit controling the AC gain of the circuit - this is quite unusual in a simple and cheap 8 transistor radio.
